This craft comes unfinished. You can paint and stain your pieces in the colors that fit your home. You can modpodge or paint the interchangeable shapes. If your sign will be outside where it could get wet or be exposed to the hot sun all day, then I recommend painting your interchangeable pieces and sealing them with a clear polyurethane.
